This has been one wild weekend. I have had a great time though, and I have the flickr photos plus some video to prove it. The one video I wanted to share with the world is too large for me to upload to either Vox or Myspace, so until I can figure out a way to edit what doesn't matter, you will just have to trust that it is the most hilarious film of me licking whipped cream.
I just realized that I saved all my new March pictures in the February folder.
I love my camera. I love my camera. I love my camera. I love my camera. I love my camera. I love my camera.
I actually just typed that out; I did not cut and paste.
We hit the club Friday night, my crew and I, to see Bonafide perform live. Spoken was in town and it was her 30th birthday, so we got a gang together at the place where we used to burn up Saturday nights with poetry and dancing way back when...
There is something about reggae music that brings out the freak in us all I think. I am positive you will see no freakier dancing than when some reggae music is playing and big hips are swaying. I was told I can "bounce it like a basketball". I like that one.
I had my camera out all weekend, snapping away and capturing everything. I did not, however, take it into the club. I don't even know why, but I think it had something to do with my not even carrying a purse inside.
I got some nice shots Friday night after the club and Saturday during lunch with Knaw'lej and Nakachi at the Olive. That is our favorite Greek restaurant. Hummus, pita bread, tabouleh salad, olives, Lebanese beer and falafel sandwiches. It does not get any better than that. The weather in Vegas finally seems to be warming up, and so we ventured out in our short sleeves and open-toed shoes.
Saturday evening Carla and I went to the Fashion Show mall. I added to my Apple Bottoms collection and found a jacket for Lashawn as well. My little Peanut likes to style, you know.
After the mall, we headed out west to eat at the Geisha House, because for some reason I am now in love with their filet mignon. The Vegas version of the Geisha house is a restaurant like Benihana where they cook the food in front of you and do all kinds of fancy tricks with the food and the cooking utensils. I did not have the hot sake this time, because I didn't like the vinegary taste last time. Carla tried it this time and agreed that it did indeed taste gross.
Today, Nakachi and I attended a knitting circle with two girls I know from work. We had a great time sitting in Starbucks discussing fiber, working on our projects and generally clowning around. I played with some of the effects on my camera, and I am in love with black and white. Color is good too, but black and white and sepia make me coo.
Allen E makes me coo too, mostly because he is a big ole goof ball, but also because he is sweet. I managed to capture one of his quieter moments Friday night.
And now, on Sunday night, I realize my weekend is quietly coming to an end. I am going to catch up on the L Word, play my sims, do some laundry and go to bed.
I have an entire week to go until the next weekend.
